High school or college education is often criticized for being irrelevant and outdated. But an Indian educator ‘Rachna Nath’ seems to change the conventional paths of education. In 2018, she started working with students after school to invent solutions to real-world problems. Where the students learned the important skills of brainstorming, questioning and research. These students started researching on existing patents and applying for grants to build prototypes of their new products. The after school program became a huge success. Rachna Nath’s students have worked on various amazing products & tools like a device to amplify Wi-Fi signals in dead zones, invented a hat that helps detect heat stress, and explored how mealworms can digest styrofoam to cut down on pollution. The Indian 老师 has also been nominated for ‘TIME Innovative Teachers 2022’ by Time Magazine.

The next educator on our list is the African 老师 ‘Richard Appiah Akoto’ who gained popularity after his photos of teaching students MS Word on chalkboard went viral on the internet. The Ghana teacher was so dedicated in teaching the students the basics of ICT that he drew the whole computer window and taskbar on the board. Akoto’s innovative teaching style is a true example that not having resources can’t stop you if you have dedication and passion. Richard Appiah Akoto got a lot of attention for his innovative style of teaching students who lacked resources. Because of Akoto’s efforts today his classroom and students have access to computers.

The lab uses tools and technologies to make things more realistic and relatable for children. Johnson’s students also work on projects like robotics. Richard also uses 3-D printing to enhance children’s learning and understanding experience. For his innovative way of teaching & educating Richard Johnson has won several prestigious awards and accolades. Richard has also shown a way to many primary school teachers and educators.

Many consider mathematics as the most boring and difficult subject. But the finland teacher ‘Maarit Rossi’ decided to break the jinx. Maarit evolved new techniques of learning and understanding maths in a fun way. She developed a fresh approach of teaching students mathematics. Maarit Rossi’s students often learn outside the classroom by taking unconventional approaches to real-life problems like measuring a large circle with shoes to demonstrate the effectiveness of pi. Maarit has co-authored several Books and has also developed an e-learning program.
