However, the book is to a lesser degree a slasher story and to a greater extent a secret, as Lynette attempts to sort out who is after her and other group members. While the actual story is solid, the fun truly comes from the homages and Easter eggs planted all through the novel. Readers who don’t know about the Friday the thirteenth, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, and some others. They may not like this novel as much as those individuals who are.
