这个 故事 begins with our primary character, Keira. She is a young lady waking up in the woods at night, with total memory loss. All she can recall is her name (and the lone thing she has is a worn-out photo and the clothes she was wearing). Far off rifle shots and men’s voices lead her to believe she is being pursued. However, she does not have the foggiest idea why or by whom. The town’s pastor (whom she does not even know) saves her. He even shelters her for the night in the empty grounds keeper’s cabin on the edge of a graveyard. As she gets comfortable for the night for a much necessary rest, she sees the ghost of a young lady standing just outside her window.
I really liked the setting of Blighty, an interesting little town. What 神秘 and secrets does it hold? We are introduced with a few local people. I must say, everybody was so likeable! You ordinarily do not have a book where every character is fun, however it’s valid for this book. The main set of characters are superbly quirky.
Besides that what I truly adored about this book is the set up. I liked how the set up was sprinkled all through the book 宁 than all packed into the beginning. I truly love this technique since it feels naturally balanced. When you have a novel that sets up everything in the start, it can feel slowed down later. But, in this book, nothing was hurried to be set up. It is spread all through the book and it won’t ever drag. Pacing was simply on point.
